Mary Glick is now associate professor and chair of the Journalism Department at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, The Tribune reports. Most recently, she was associate director of the American Press Institute. Prior to that, she was associate professor of journalism at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego, where she was also founder and director of the Center for Community Journalism.

Previously, Glick was named CNPA's 1993 Outstanding Journalism Educator while teaching journalism at CSU Long Beach. Her earlier career included editing and writing at several Southern California newspapers.
