Equipment Grants
The CNPA Foundation each spring provides equipment grants for CNPA-member campus newspapers to upgrade their newspaper production equipment. Only CNPA's high school- and college-member newspapers may apply.

These grant awards are intended specifically for the purchase of equipment to improve the production process at campus newspapers. There is no minimum grant amount. The maximum grant in 2010 is $1,500.

Applicants complete a simple form and submit an essay demonstrating a need for new or upgraded production equipment to improve the newspaper's overall production operation. The equipment can include any item that helps students to produce and disseminate content. Examples include computer hardware and software, peripherals such as scanners and printers, and tools such as digital cameras, audio and video recorders, and related software.

Applications are accepted beginning in early spring, and awards are distributed in May. Download  2010 application

High school adviser grants
The CNPA Foundation in Spring 2010 will provide 15 $200 grants to California high school newspaper advisers to learn about newspaper production. Advisers need not be CNPA members to apply for high school newspaper adviser grants.
Grant recipients decide how and where they obtain their production training. Grant funds may cover partial or complete fees for training. Applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, April 23, 2010. Grant recipients will be announced in mid-May. Download 2010 application
