Last call for Governmental Affairs Day
Support CNPA’s efforts to advance and protect newspaper interests by attending CNPA’s 20th Annual Governmental Affairs Day on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Don’t miss the chance to meet and interact with California’s legislators and legislative leaders.
Senate President pro Tem Kevin deLeon (D-Los Angeles), Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood), Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) and Assembly Republican Leader Chad Mayes (R-Yucca Valley) have confirmed that they will speak to the assembled group in the morning.
Board of Equalization Chairwoman Fiona Ma will be our guest at lunch and will join legislators, other constitutional officers, publishers and editors at the evening reception at the Capitol Building.
Recently sworn-in Attorney General Xavier Becerra has been invited to keynote the day’s program.
The day’s events start at 10 a.m. and end at 7 p.m.
CNPA is partnering with California Black Media and the National Association of Hispanic Publications to host the event.
We will even make an appointment for you to visit with your legislators. Contact Raphael Henriquez at (916) 288-6018 and he will set it up for you.
Staff has already identified bills that threaten public notices, the public’s right to know and newspapers’ business operations. Your presence at Governmental Affairs Day is essential and demonstrates to legislators and other public officials that newspapers’ influence on the development of public policy in California is alive and well. Please invite your key staff to accompany you.
To register, go here. The cost for both the lunch and the evening reception is $75. Registration closes on Monday, Feb. 13.
